Medical Assistant Location: Arlington, TX Agency: Pride Health Pay: $18 to $23 per hour Shift Information: 5 days x 9 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility, located in Arlington, TX 76017 . This is a 3 month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Specific Duties: Performs all duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant's practice. Operates diagnostic equipment (cannot interpret tests), removes staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing and obtains cultures, administers non-intravenous medication, performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques, and collects blood specimens via venipuncture or via capillary, performs EKGs. Performs quality control checks on equipment. Prepares and sterilizes medical equipment using the autoclave Room patients according to policy and procedures, and prepare patients for examination Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and promptly Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies Respects patient confidentiality always and treats patients with courtesy and respect Organises exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms, and sterilizes instruments Practices standard infection control precautions Telephone and in-person screening are limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge Supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO) Performs all other related duties as assigned Qualifications: 3 years of preferred experience Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred High school diploma or equivalent BLS Certification Must have qualifications/experience: High school graduate or GED equivalent Demonstrated basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills Proven knowledge of medical terminology Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Proven good communication and customer service skills Additional Information: Location: 4401 Park Springs Blvd, Ste 100, Arlington, TX 76017 Job Type: 4 months contract to hire Schedule: - Monday through Friday Office Hours: Monday -Friday 7 am-5 pm Pay Range: $18-23/hrs. on W2 without benefits *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
