Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide expert nursing care in a Level 2 trauma center, serving patients on a busy 25-bed surgical trauma stepdown unit. This role calls for skilled RNs experienced in trauma and acute care, delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients recovering from complex surgical procedures and medical crises. Location: Denton, TX, a vibrant city offering a welcoming community, cultural attractions, and outdoor recreation opportunities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area. Role Responsibilities: Manage patients post-operation or with acute surgical and trauma needs, including trauma surgery, orthopedic, vascular, neurological, and general surgeries. Care for individuals with complex cardiovascular, neurological, and respiratory conditions, such as stroke, unstable angina, pulmonary embolism, and respiratory distress. Monitor telemetry, vital signs, and patient status with regular assessments. Administer and manage IV drips including heparin, amiodarone, dopamine, and nitroglycerin, among others. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and provide comprehensive patient care. Utilize Meditech electronic medical records for accurate documentation. Adapt to a fast-paced environment with a patient ratio of 1:4, ensuring attentive and responsive care. Qualifications: Current RN license. ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required. Prior trauma, orthopedic, or stepdown experience preferred. Competence with Meditech EMR system advantageous. Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills. Ability to work day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM on a 5th-floor surgical trauma unit. Additional Features: No on-call or floating outside designated stepdown service lines.
