About The Role:

As a CBRE Payroll Manager, you will lead a team responsible for payroll operations and People/HR data processing functions for salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees. This role will specifically be running the Broker Pay team which has high volume of commissioned/1099 employees.

This job is part of the Payroll function. They are responsible for processing, auditing, and resolving employee wage inquiries.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentoring. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Manage and ensure the efficient operation of the payroll function and department.
  • Implement and regularly evaluate procedures and policies to enhance the team's effectiveness.
  • Understand the payroll strategy and planning process.
  • Ensure timely communication of changes to payroll policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Coordinate with appropriate agencies and departments to ensure compliance with all government reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that quarterly forms, tax filings, annual reporting, and year-end employee documents are completed on time.
  • Assist with the approval of all payroll system test plans prior go-to dates.
  • Manage project plans for year-end reporting and oversee department budget and reporting metrics.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
    • CPP preferred.
    • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
    • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
