This role is responsible for developing and implementing solutions to drive sustainability and efficiency in site facilities and building operations. As a key member of the Enterprise Engineering Team, the Energy Engineer will partner with site Facilities managers and engineers to develop and manage sustainability strategies. Key job responsibilities:Support decarbonization initiatives by developing scope 1 and scope 2 emissions reduction opportunities, research and manage green tariffs, power purchase agreements, renewable energy credits, and on-site and off site renewable energy. Contribute to corporate sustainability by being a key advocate of the decarbonization commitments to facility teams through frequent engagement to create focus to the program. Develop and shepherd energy efficiency projects including developing scope, business cases and leading professionals. Represent MFC in corporate working groups in place to develop and implement sustainability strategies. Serve as a subject matter expert in LEED building certification for projects. Conduct and participate in audit reviews of site energy usage and develop projects to reduce energy usage. Review and analyze building management systems and power monitoring systems data to develop engineering recommendations. Support review of facility projects to support energy goals and maximize return on investment. Organize monthly energy metric reporting for multiple sites and provide trending analysis with corrective actions.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or similar discipline and 5 years of experience with facility or engineering for complex facilities. Basic understanding of laboratory, factory/manufacturing/assembly, and office space . Strong organizational and presentation preparation skillsDesired Skills:Active LEED Accredited Professional. Registered Professional Engineer. Demonstrated excellence in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once. Proven excellent verbal and written communications skills and including the ability to work effectively with customers, staff, management and diverse populations. Experience providing high quality customer service. Building Management Systems analysis experience. Equipment commissioning experience. Proficient in Microsoft office software programs including PowerPoint, excel, word, outlook, and project. Demonstrated experience preparing business cases with ROI, IRR and Simple Payback calculations. Experience in building portfolio management and/or corporate carbon reporting.
